This nine-part online training series provides an essential foundation for understanding safe electrical work practices based on codes and standards to help avoid electrical injuries, deaths, and OSHA violations.
Based on NFPA 70E®, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace®, the NFPA® Safe Electrical Work Practices Online Training program was built with the working electrician in mind. Interactive, scenario-based exercises place participants in realistic, controlled environments where they can test their knowledge and skill set by accomplishing tasks faced on the job every day.
Staying safe is the #1 priority, and even the most seasoned contractor will gain valuable knowledge from this self-paced program. Through a combination of video and other high-definition media, the user will experience the application of NFPA 70E rather than just a review of the standard.
This training is a "must have" for anyone who works in the electrical contracting industry.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Describe the relationship between NFPA 70E and OSHA standards
- Identify hazards associated with the task, equipment, and environment
- Establish an electrically safe work condition (ESWC)
- Determine if energized electrical work is justified
- Identify shock and arc flash hazard personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Compare the scope of maintenance between NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance
- Identify the presence of unique electrical energy hazards
