Then, continue with the course on how to locate, interpret, and correctly identify and apply the requirements for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire door assemblies. Wrap up with learning how to apply the requirements for fire dampers, smoke dampers, combination fire/smoke dampers, and permissible door locking arrangements. All courses offer a rich, interactive training experience, so you're ready to apply concepts on the job. Each one-hour course ends with an exam to test your knowledge.

    Upon completion of the series, you should be able to:

    • Describe the scope, purpose, and organization of NFPA 80
    • Locate the inspection, testing and maintenance requirements, including frequency and documentation for fire door assemblies
    • Distinguish the various types of dampers and their uses

    Upon completion you should be able to:

    • Identify opening protectives ratings from NFPA 101®
    • Apply the general requirements of Chapter 4 to fire doors and other opening protectives
    • Identify general requirements for inspection, testing, and maintenance

This one-hour self-paced module is based on the 2016 edition of NFPA 80.

    • Distinguish the various types of dampers and their uses
    • Locate damper requirements in NFPA 101, NFPA 5000, NFPA 90A, NFPA 80 (fire dampers), and NFPA 105 (smoke dampers)
