    2017 Edition

    Make sure manufactured housing correctly addresses fire safety considerations for residents by complying with NFPA 501A, Standard for Fire Safety Criteria for Manufactured Home Installations, Sites, and Communities. This important Standard covers the installation of manufactured homes and home sites, including accessory buildings, structures, and communities.

    NFPA 501A establishes the minimum criteria associated with:

    • Setback for accessory buildings and community buildings

    Changes include new references to NFPA 13D.

    Added language in the 2017 edition -- addressing the maintenance and testing of home fire sprinkler systems -- directs owners to the practices recommended in NFPA 13D, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes. Other changes include updated references throughout.
