Get the knowledge and skills to help ensure water-based fire protection systems are capable of safeguarding buildings, assets, and people with NFPA 25: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Online Training Series.

Keeping fire sprinklers and related equipment in optimal condition plays a crucial role in reducing property damage and increasing the chances of building occupants escaping to safety in the event of a fire. Based on the 2020 edition, NFPA 25 Online Training helps provide a working understanding of the complex mechanics, equipment, and practices involved in the inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of water-based fire protection systems.

This three-part, self-paced online training series covers everything you need to know about maintaining sprinkler systems, fire pumps, water tanks, and other system components. Updated to include the latest revisions to NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, participants receive an overview of the scope of the standard and insight and instruction into how to apply requirements to ensure system readiness, perform testing, and address impairments.

Upon completion of the series you should be able to:

    • State the scope and purpose of NFPA 25
    • Identify roles and responsibilities within NFPA 25
    • Define and identify examples of impairments, critical deficiencies, and non-critical deficiencies
    • Identify inspection, testing, and maintenance activities to be conducted on a scheduled basis (weekly, monthly, etc.) and for unscheduled events such as emergency impairments

Interactive online training from NFPA® offers convenient, cost-effective access to top-of-the-line professional education.

NFPA 25 Online Training helps provide the confidence to perform or evaluate results for inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems more accurately and efficiently by outlining the steps to achieve compliance and the responsibilities for each activity. The course presents three distinctive characters to take you through the ITM process from the perspective of a facility manager, contractor, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to apply requirements in a variety of realistic scenarios with knowledge checks and tasks in which you need to identify the appropriate system procedures for ITM. The engaging, online format utilizes how-to instructional presentations from subject matter experts, short videos, exercises, and interactive components to impart information, allow for practice, and reinforce learning.

Work online at your own pace and convenience to increase your knowledge and skills of sprinkler ITM.

This training series is designed to help building owners and managers, installers, contractors, enforcement officials, and anyone with a role in ITM maintenance save time and money on the job and perform duties to a higher standard.
