Learn about the different fire pump ratings and key performance characteristics for centrifugal pumps.
The 2022 NFPA 20, Stationary Fire Pumps – Sizing and Performance Online Training provides a detailed overview of why a certified pump curve is important and the three points used to create the curve. This course also covers the impeller characteristics associated with fire pumps, such as width, angle of vanes, number of vanes, and size of impeller eye, and how they impact the performance of the fire pump.
Upon completion, you should be able to:
- Determine sizing
- Associate fire pump impeller characteristics with their effects on performance
- Compare and contrast fire pump performance based on water supply type
