    Examine strategies for fire sprinkler system protection through this comprehensive training program based on the completely reorganized 2019 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. Through collaborative exercises and discussion led by industry experts, learn about new industry technologies, examine developing hazards and concerns, and get the fundamental knowledge required for both the design of new top-quality installations and the assessment of existing systems.

    Learn vital basics from a real-world case study.

    This updated NFPA 13 class will take participants through the design and analysis of a virtual manufacturing and warehousing facility where real-world decisions, standards use, and solutions will be investigated. You'll be more confident and efficient in your designs, installations, and analysis through interactive instruction that engages participants in the full range of NFPA 13 application. A Certificate of Completion is available after the course upon completion of an online exam.

    Upon completion of this 5-day training you should be able to:

    • Describe fire sprinkler system types and system components
    • Identify the minimum working plan requirements
    • Identify basic hydraulic principles and how they impact a given system
    • Identify specific criteria used to select an NFPA 13 compliant system
    • Compare the differences in CMDA, CMSA, and ESFR sprinklers that affect system design choices
    • Identify specific criteria that make up an NFPA 13 compliant design approach
    • Select appropriate occupancy and commodity hazard classifications
    • Analyze design issues in both single- and multi-occupancy use buildings
    • Select the appropriate sprinkler system for a given building occupancy
    • Determine minimum water supply requirements
    • Analyze the critical effects of changes to the water supply in existing systems
    • Implement a systematic approach to sprinkler system design and analysis
