The NFPA 13: Fire Sprinkler System Types and Applications (2016) Online Training in the NFPA 13 Online Training Series takes an in-depth look at fire sprinkler system types and applications.
NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems—presents a general overview of NFPA 13's Chapter 7: System Requirements and the associated Annex A material, and takes a more extensive look at the applications for wet, dry, preaction, and deluge sprinkler systems. The training also introduces you to specialty systems. Finally, you'll learn about the four major considerations that are used to decide what type of system is best.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Identify the four most commonly used system types.
- Understand when each of the four primary fire system types as well as specialty systems should be utilized.
- Understand and identify the characteristics of wet pipe systems.
- Understand and identify the characteristics of dry pipe systems.
- Understand and identify the characteristics of preaction systems.
- Understand and identify the characteristics of deluge systems.
- Describe the properties of specialty systems including anti-freeze and multi-cycle systems.
