NFPA 13: Fire Sprinkler Installation Requirements, Chapter 8 —based on the 2016 NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems—addresses basic requirements that apply to sprinkler systems, including how to locate sprinklers and the protection area limitations for different ceiling and construction configurations.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Understand and identify the common requirements for the installation of sprinkler systems.
- Understand sprinkler selection and use.
- Understand and identify the required spacing, location, and position of sprinklers.
- Explain protection area limitations.
- Understand and identify special architectural protection requirements around features such as cloud ceilings, soffits and other obstructive structural and decorative building components.
