    Renamed for the 2016 edition, NFPA 1051 presents up-to-date minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) necessary to perform the duties of a wildland fire fighter and fire officer. The Standard is intended to help improve performance in the field as well as reduce the risk of injury and loss of life. Standalone chapters address the roles and responsibilities of Wildland Fire Fighters I and II, Wildland Fire Officer I and II, Wildland/Urban Interface Protection Specialist, and Wildland/Urban Interface Coordinator.
