Take this self-guided online course on the 2018 NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code® series for an essential introduction to requirements for egress.
This interactive online training course lays the foundation on means of egress concepts needed by everyone responsible for life safety in any type of building. Working at your own pace, you'll learn how the 2018 edition of NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, defines means of egress and about requirements for exit enclosure and protection, along with other components such as doors, stairs, handrails, and elevators. Interactive exercises and job aids help reinforce learning and provide vital takeaways for use on the job. The one-hour course ends with an exam to test your knowledge.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Define the three parts of the means of egress
- Determine exit enclosure and protection
- Identify requirements for doors, stairs, handrails and guards, smokeproof enclosures, horizontal exits, ramps, exit passageways, elevators, fire escape stairs, fire escape ladders, and other components of means of egress
