NFPA 1, Fire Code, prescribes minimum requirements necessary to establish a reasonable level of life safety and property protection from the hazards created by fire, explosion, and dangerous conditions. It applies to both new and existing conditions. This online training provides an overview of the structure and content of NFPA 1, as well as how the fire professional can interpret and apply its key information. Throughout the Introduction to NFPA 1, Fire Code Online Training, we will reference the 2018 edition of NFPA 1.
In this course, we will learn about the organization of NFPA 1 and key concepts addressed in the Fire Code. We will discuss the scope, purpose, and application of the Fire Code, as well as goals, objectives, assumptions, and compliance options. Finally, you will learn to answer questions that might be seen in the field by locating and interpreting key information in the Fire Code.
