Available as a print, loose-leaf binder, the Florida Fire Prevention Code combines the following safety documents with Florida amended text throughout:

    • NFPA 1, Fire Code, 2018 edition, the most complete publication for improving public and first responder safety and minimizing loss of life and property. The document brings together extracts from and references to over 130 NFPA codes and standards to provide an integrated approach to fire code regulation and hazard management. You get performance criteria for mitigating the risk of fire, explosion, and related dangers and achieving adequate levels of safety and protection.
    • NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, 2018 edition, offering general requirements for safeguarding the public from hazards in the built environment. The code covers the construction, protection, and occupancy of new and existing structures. From means of egress and features of fire protection to injuries from falls and hazardous materials emergencies, NFPA 101 is a vital resource for virtually anyone with responsibilities for public safety.

The Florida Fire Prevention Code is adopted by the State Fire Marshal at three year intervals as required by Chapter 633.202, Florida Statutes. The county, municipality or special district in which you reside may also have local amendments applicable only to your community.
