CFI-I Hazardous Materials Online Training provides candidates with experience navigating NFPA 1, Fire Code, to learn core concepts and answer questions related to flammable and combustible liquids, gases, and other hazardous materials. In addition, learners will participate in brief reviews of fire prevention practices as they pertain to flammable and combustible liquids, gases, and other hazardous materials.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Describe the scope and purpose of NFPA 1
- Effectively navigate NFPA 1
- Identify codes related to the storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances
- Describe the classification and labeling of hazardous substances
- Apply the properties of hazardous substances to inspection situations
- Apply knowledge of fire prevention practices to the prevention of fires and other hazards involving the storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances
- Apply knowledge of proper housekeeping practices to the prevention of fires and other hazards involving the storage, handling, and use of hazardous substances
Who Will Benefit:
Anyone with the roles and responsibilities of Fire Inspector I—particularly those planning to take the CFI-I certification examination, as well as fire service professionals, code officials, AHJs, insurance professionals, and others expected to maintain this certification as part of their employment requirements.
Continuing Education Credit:
Complete this course and qualify for 0.1 CEU. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be prompted to download the CEU certificate directly from the course site.
