CFI-I Fire Extinguishers and Plans Online Training provides candidates with experience navigating NFPA 1, Fire Code, to learn core concepts and answer questions related to fire extinguishers and emergency planning. In addition, learners will participate in a brief review of operational readiness as it pertains to portable fire extinguishers (PFE), emergency planning, fire flow, and hydrant spacing.
Upon completion you should be able to:
- Explain the scope and purpose of NFPA 1
- Effectively navigate NFPA 1
- Identify the codes and standards applicable to the installation, maintenance, and testing of PFE
- Identify PFE classification and rating, placement, and operational readiness
- Identify types of construction documents applicable to emergency planning and the information they contain
- Use NFPA 1 to define fire flow and determine minimum required fire flow and flow duration
Who Will Benefit:
Anyone with the roles and responsibilities of Fire Inspector I—particularly those planning to take the CFI-I certification examination, as well as fire service professionals, code officials, AHJs, insurance professionals, and others expected to maintain this certification as part of their employment requirements.
Continuing Education Credit:
