The 2010 NFPA 1410 clarifies several previous evolutions and requirements for emergency scene operations, and includes the definition of rapid intervention crews (RIC) plus a new chapter with RIC training and performance requirements. These added requirements are consistent with those in the 2010 NFPA 1710: Standard for the Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations, and Special Operations to the Public by Career Fire Departments and the new first-edition 2010 NFPA 1407: Standard for Training Fire Service Rapid Intervention Crews.
